Barrel Cactus | Hanging Coloured Ball Cactus, also known as Ferocactus, commonly referred to as Parodia, are both types of cacti known for their distinctive round shape, barrel or ball cacti are prized for their ornamental value and are popular choices for cultivation in gardens or as potted plants, particularly in areas with a dry climate or where water conservation is important. Additionally, they are well-adapted to survive in harsh desert conditions, making them relatively low-maintenance plants once established
Barrel cacti are various members of the two genera Echinocactus and Ferocactus, found in the deserts of Southwestern North America. Some of the largest specimens can be found in the Mojave Desert in southern California.
